Hey there my lovelies! I have recently gone thrift shopping in the last few days and decided to pick up a few clothing pieces. Since I have a minimal wardrobe I only choose pieces I know I am going to wear, and get use out of. I also want to give some tips and tricks on what items to buy at thrift shops and how to find them! Lets get started.

The first piece of clothing I purchased at Goodwill for only $2.99. This shirt is brand new, tags still on, no rips or holes. It has a slight cold shoulder with a flower print detail on the shoulders. It flows perfectly, and you can wear it both in the winter and summer months.
The second item, I also purchased at the Goodwill for $2.99. It’s and flower embroidered tank top with a slight crop to it. I can wear this in the winter under cardigans or in summer with shorts.
The next clothing item I got at my local thrift shop for $4.99. It is a beautiful sweater from the brand “Banana Republic”. It has a slightly wider neck line, and is a bit cropped which I don’t mind. I am usually a size small but this sweater is in a size medium and it fits perfectly.
The next item I didn’t actually thrift, I purchased these at Forever 21. I decided to include them in this haul tho, because I found these high waisted jeans on the clearance rack for only $4.99. They are a size 2 and a perfect fit, like I said they are high waisted so if you bend over nothing will show.

This beautiful burgundy top I found at the Goodwill for $2.99. The tags are still on it, and the brand is “Merona” which you can find at Target. Its a cropped flowy blouse with a square neckline. The sleeves are a wide cut and sit nicely on the shoulders.
This is another piece I picked up from Forever 21 on sale for only $10.80. Its a deep blue color with gold buttons all the way down the front. You can wear this in the winter with tights and boots, or in the summer with sneakers or flats.

When it comes to thrift shopping you don’t want to just go and buy a bunch of items you don’t need. Even though thrifted clothes are inexpensive, it still adds up if you spend on what you don”t need. The first tip I have is to go through your closet and see which pieces you need and which pieces you have plenty of.
Once you’ve decided what you’re looking for its time to shop. I love the Goodwill, their prices are awesome and you can usually find pieces brand new with the tags still on. Make sure the clothing items you pick out are in good condition, no holes, rips or stains.
The second tip I have is to try on the clothing items you like. You don’t want to purchase something that is to big or to small, or just generally looks funny. It’s important to think of thrifting shopping as you would if you were shopping in the mall or another store. You wouldn’t leave without trying things on.
Sometimes you just can’t find what your looking for in thrift shops. Either their not your style, size or aren’t in good condition. I urge you to try the clearance and sales racks at your favorite stores. Most of the time you can find pieces you love at thrift store prices.
Another tip is to know where your shopping. Places like Goodwill have a decent variety of woman’s, men’s, baby, children and other clothing items. So you can usually find one or two things you like. Places like Plato’s Closet sell things for teens and young adults. You can also find a lot of name brands there for great prices. Depending on the area you live in you might find some hidden gems at your local thrift shops or Salvation Army.
When your thrift shopping ask yourself a few questions. Is the piece in good condition? What can I pair this item with? And will you wear it frequently?
Love the items you got! And so true! You shouldn’t get items because they’re so affordable. Get items because you need them. I found awesome maternity items at my Goodwill

I love the sweater & shirt with flowers!
There aren’t many thrift stores near me & they normally only have non-clothing items. However, I always check out the clearance racks at H&M & other clothing stores! I’ve bought many great things on clearance from jeans & shorts to jumpsuits & dresses. When I’m buying something on clearance it’s always b/c I need it or I only have a few of it. Like I didn’t have any jumpsuits & now I have 3 for the summer 😊
