Hey lovelies! Today I wanna go over my winter make-up routine as a minimalist. I never wear heavy make-up for the simple fact that I don’t feel the need to. This make-up routine is for the simple ladies out there, no crazy glam or heavy foundation. Hope you enjoy and lets get started!

My skin, like a lot of others get dry during the winter time. Make sure to moisturize before starting your make-up routine in the morning. Keeping your face hydrated will help prevent your make-up from flaking and peeling off throughout the day. My go to moisturizer is the Aveno Daily Moisturizer. Again I don’t wear foundation, I have a lot of freckles and covering them up with foundation looks odd on my face. I do however wear cover-up. I use the Almay Clear Complexion Concealer in the shade 200 Light/Medium. I have used this cover-up for over three years, it has salicylic acid to help prevent breakouts. I put this concealer under my eyes, in my T-Zone and on any red spots to help keep my face even.

I discovered the Revolution Beauty brand this past summer and fell in love. Their make-up is not only inexpensive but also good quality. For my eyebrows I use the Revolution Beauty Brow Pomade in the color Taupe. It is a gel/wax formula that goes on smooth. The thing I adore about this pomade is how natural it looks on my eyebrows. It simply enhances my natural brows as opposed to covering them up completely. Sometimes dar drawn on eyebrows can look to harsh for an everyday make-up look.

When it comes to eyeshadow again I tend to keep it super simple. I start off using the Primer Potion by Urban Decay. This product has been in my make-up collection for years. It’s so creamy and allows my eyeshadows to stay on all day without creasing. The eye shadows I have been using come from the Violet Voss Pro Palette. I recently received this in my December Boxy Luxe box, and I have been loving it. There are a wide range of neutral eyeshadows in this palette, these shadows are pigmented and have little to no fallout. I have been using two eyeshadows more than others, the first is Proof, a light pale pink that I put all over the lid. The next is the color Brownie Points which I use in the crease to add some definition.

The blush I have been loving lately I received in a giveaway I won recently! It is by the brand Cargo in the color Catalina. It is a beautiful bright pink color, a little goes a long way. I only have to dip my brush in once to get the flush I want for my cheeks. Cargo is brand I am still discovering, I have tried their eyeshadows as well and was very pleased. Their products seem to be creamy and pigmented without drying out my face.

My go-to mascara lately has been the IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara in Super Black. It does tend to be super voluminous, and make your lashes look as if your wearing false lashes. The nice thing about this mascara, is with the rest of the make-up being simple and neutral this mascara adds a glam look. The only down side to this mascara is it can tend to clump a bit. I find myself always wiping off the wand to help prevent getting large clumps on my eyelashes. I use a variety of different brushes for my make-up looks. For the past few months I have developed a pretty large brush collection and I definitely have my favorites. Some of my go-to brands are Wet & Wild, Real Techniques, BH Cosmetics and CALA Brushes!
