Hey lovelies! Today I want to share some of my favorite DIY projects for the fall time! Now you can keep these decorations up past Halloween, and all the way through to Thanksgiving!

Painted pumpkins are probably the easiest DIY project for fall time! If you use fall colors such as red, orange, yellow etc. you can display these on your porch or in your house way into November! (Pumpkins are not just for Halloween!) You don’t have to be as crazy perfect as the ones in the pictures above, this is a great project to do with kids and family members. Get creative, use lots of colors, I even go on Pinterest and look for cool patterns or examples.

What you’ll need

  • Pumpkin
  • Craft Paint

This is what mine look like this year

This is a great DIY project that will come in handy for every holiday season! This project actually seems a lot harder than it is, all you’ll need is an old picture frame (with the glass still in it), or a Cork Board. You’ll also need to go to your local craft store and pick up Chalk Board Paint, or Chalk Board Spray Paint. This is gonna be a messy project so make sure to set up in a place where your project can dry and wont be disrupted. Your also gonna need duct tape to project the edges of the item your painting. Once you put the tape on the edges, go ahead and paint the glass (of the picture frame) or the cork part (of the cork board)! You’ll need to do at least three layers, making sure to let dry completely before applying the next layer. After its completely dry, remove the tape and decorate the outside of the frame or board with fall leaves, string lights, glitter or more!

What you’ll need:

  • cork board
  • picture frame
  • chalk board paint/ or spray paint
    • paint brushes for the chalk board paint
  • Duct Tape
  • Chalk to write on the board
  • Fall decorations

Fun painted mason jars are great to decorate with, but are also a useful item. You can use holiday themed mason jars to hold your pens & pencils, flowers, cooking utensils, candy etc. Start off by picking out the mason jar of your choice, and some fun fall colored craft paint. Paint the mason jars with fall colors and designs, go on Pinterest for lots of ideas! Once you let them dry add a glossy top coat and let sit overnight. This is going to be a decor item you can store and keep for the next year. This is also a perfect gift to give to someone, a homemade mason jar filled with coffee, tea, candy etc. Add twine or ribbon to finish off the DIY project!

What you’ll need:

  • mason jar
  • craft paint
    • paint brushes
  • Glossy top coat (spray paint/ or glossy top coat craft paint)
  • ribbon or twine

Fun painted wooden boxes are another great decor item, but are also very useful around the house! You don’t need to add wheels to the box like the one featured in the picture above, you can simply paint and decorate it and leave it as is. You can store lots of things in your wooden box like books, plants, shoes, clothes, pumpkins etc. You can buy a wooden box exactly like the one featured above at Michaels Craft Store, or AcMore. I know you can also get similar ones at Target and TJ Maxx. Once you pick out your box, paint it and decorate as you please, leave out to dry completely then add a top coat. You can store and save this decor piece for next year!

What you’ll need:

  • Wooden Box
  • Paint
    • Paint Brush
  • Top coat (Glossy spray paint in clear, or clear craft paint top coat)

This is a perfect easy craft to do with your kids, friends or family! Buy a pack of popsicle sticks, you can get these at any craft or retail store. Paint them all in different and fun fall colors and patterns. On each popsicle stick, write a fall time activity, or “To Do” for fall time. Add them to a small bucket (or a mason fun painted jar) and whenever your kids get bored or your family wants to do an activity, pick a popsicle stick out at random and do that activity!

What you’ll need:

  • popsicle sticks
  • craft paint
    • paint brushes
  • permeant marker
  • small bucket or container
