Hey there my lovelies! Today we are going to be talking about ways to stop spending and start saving. A lot of us these days live paycheck to paycheck, and it would be nice to have some money saved for a rainy day. For a lot of us as well, we may have student loans, credit card bills, car loans, or other debt we need to pay off. So let talk ways to save!

We are all guilty of spending way to much money on coffee cause we feel like we will die without it. I promise tho, you won’t die from lack of five dollar Starbuck’s beverages. If you are serious about saving this is one of the first things to cut. I am guilty of needing coffee to keep me awake most mornings. So instead of spending money on that sugary expensive coffee, make it yourself at home. For me it’s easier to brew a few pots in a row, put them into a giant pitcher and refrigerate it for the week. That way every morning I get a cup of ice, poor my already brewed coffee on it and am good to go!

It is actually crazy how much money you can save by using coupons. If you are grocery shopping, keep your eye out for the flyer at the grocery store, that tells you whats on sale, and what deals are running. For places like Target and Walmart, they have phone apps, where you can scan for coupons and save money. When it comes to clothes shopping, simply type into Google the name of the store you’re shopping at and the word “coupon” and you will get a bunch of results. Make a list, have your coupons ready, and I guarantee you, you’ll will save money.

If you are determined to get fit and live a healthy lifestyle it doesn’t matter if you’re in a gym or not. Even if your gym only charges you, 10$, or $20 a month, if you cut it out you’ll be saving anywhere from $150-250 dollars a year. (Thats a lot of money!) Youtube has tons of “At home” workout videos that you can use to stay fit without ever stepping foot into a gym. Get outside and walk, run or swim for your cardio routine. Save yourself the extra cash and workout at home.

Before I cut back on TV streaming I was subscribed to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and YoutubeRED. You do not need to spend money on more than one streaming site, choose the one you use most often and cut the rest. This is a simple tip that can end up saving you close to $300 a year. Also if have cable but tend to watch Netflix more, cut the cable. Cable can be ridiculously expensive and a luxury we can’t afford if we are trying to SAVE!

This is a quick and easy way to earn some extra cash that you can funnel into your savings account! There are apps that are easy to use, simply take a picture of your item, give a description and a price, upload it and begin selling. Some of the best Apps are Vinted, MERCI, Posh-mark, and DePOP. You can also take your clothes into a consignment shop where they will evaluate what you have and give you cash on the spot for your clothes. Places like Plato;s closet, Once Upon a Child, and other local consignment shops are your best bet!

This is a huge way to save money and also be healthier. One of the main things you should do is designate one day a week to do the shopping and start meal prepping. Every time you go out for lunch, pick up a drink or snack, go out to eat with friends or your significant other you are spending money you should be saving. If you wanna have a friends night, encourage them to come back to your place where you’ll prepare a meal for them. Meal prepping helps save time and money if you work a busy schedule and often find yourself stopping for food.

Stop spending money buying new clothes, purses, jackets, and other clothing items. Check out your local thrift shops if you are looking for a new pair of jeans, a cute top, or some fancy accessories. Just because you thrift doesn’t make you poor it makes you smart. If you would normally purchase a top for $20 but can get it a similar top for $2 you’ll be saving so much money while still looking stylish!

Get yourself a hobby you like doing i.e drawing, sewing, knitting, crafting, running, cooking, blogging etc. This way when your bored you won’t go out and buy things you don’t need, but rather work on your hobby. This may seem like a silly one but trust me in the end it’ll save you a ton!

Every time you get change back from a store, laundry matt, vending machine etc, have a designated jar to put it. Let it accumulate and you won’t believe how much money you collect over the course of a year. You can then take it to a counting machine, or roll up the coins and take them directly to the bank. Most likely you’ll have a few hundred in change, add that to your savings account and keep collecting.

This is a pretty simple one, go through your linen closet, bathroom mirror, vanity and other storage places and pull out all the products you have. Line them up and use up all those products before repurchasing anything new. Not only does this get rid of clutter and waste, but you’ll find it’ll take you some months to finish everything up. Saving you lots of money!
Great post! I’m definitely trying to use up products before buying replacements- it is tough but rewarding! X

Awesome tips! I realized I was spending too much money on coffee so I stopped buying coffee through the day when I was out and about and just have been having my coffee at home instead.
